Cheap Money Making Ideas – 4 Helpful Tips

There are many tips on how to make money out there but here I have listed four that are definitely worth considering.

The 4 tips to focus on include the following:

Get Connected with Helpful Resources

Become More Frugal

Blogging for Passive Income

Working as a DoorDash or Uber driver

I’m focusing on these 4 because they are great places to start when you are looking for extra sources of income.

Through this post I will show you why these four tips can be very useful to find cheap money making ideas that can make or save you money.

Get Connected with Helpful Resources

Getting connected with websites that have helpful information about potential jobs is a great place to start. I have come across a ton of different ways of generating money and I know there are plenty that I have not come across yet.

I have used the following three websites to learn a lot about potential jobs out in the world and ideas to make money.

Great websites to check out are the following:

  1. ThePennyHoarder
  2. Ivetriedthat
  3. Indeed

ThePennyHoarder is an abundant resource for finding information that you might not have known about before. They have tested out certain jobs and give important feedback about which ones are worth trying out.

Check Out The Penny Hoarder

The Penny Hoarder is a great resource for finding out how to save money, find side hustles or learn how to budget properly.

They have many interesting articles about how to save money that could give you ideas on how to save in your own life.

If you would like to learn more about this resource I have written up a more in depth review here, The Penny Hoarder Review.

Ivetriedthat.com is an extensive website to learn about passive income ideas and side jobs to earn money quickly. The founder of the site, Steve, has researched and worked for years trying to find the best  jobs.

This site can give you ideas on how to find easy work from home jobs or even build a new career as an Amazon seller.

I also like how he has listed very simple jobs, such as watching tv or listening to music, which you can do to earn money.

Indeed.com is a considerable website to find potential jobs in your area and other jobs online. It is really beneficial for finding a good part-time job or even a full time job.

You can post the job you are ideally looking for or even search for any jobs in your area.

This is a solid place to find a part-time job for some quick income but it is more geared for people trying to find full time jobs.

You can also look at company reviews to help figure out if you want to work at that particular business.

Become More Frugal

There are a ton of ways to generate money but there is also the concept of becoming more frugal. If you can find the time to review at your expenses, you will likely find room for improvement.

Everyone has expenses and almost everyone has an income. So improving your financial situation really comes down to two categories: how much do you make and how much do you spend.

I have spent years becoming more frugal and it has allowed me to not work as much or feel as stressed about money. Most of the changes I have made were gradual but I consistently focused on becoming more frugal.

Become More Frugal With Food Expenses

The main areas to reduce expenses and save money include the following:

  • Food
  • Car Expenses

Food is the main area where you can most likely reduce your expenses. This is because most people spend more on going out to eat and not as much on buying groceries and preparing food at home.

Definitely the one that was the easiest for me to improve on was going out to eat less and preparing a lot more food at home.

This has saved me a lot of money because I almost always have food prepared so I never get into a situation where I have to buy food or go out to eat.

There often can be a huge potential for reducing your expenses by preparing food at home consistently.

Review Car Expenses in Detail

Car Expenses can be another big area for saving potential, especially if you focus on a few tips.

These tips include:

  • Review Current Car Insurance Policy
  • Wear and Tear Expenses
  • Drive Less

Reviewing you current car insurance policy and shopping around to see what you could be paying with another insurance company could be huge for saving.

Take a look at the details of your coverage policy and there could be room for saving a little money.

Driving a car actually can be very expensive when you think about the general wear and tear that is happening for every mile you drive. Not driving as fast and not driving erratically will save you money because you will save on gas, maintenance and repairs for the car.

A good tip to try and practice to use cruise control in your car because this will allow you to travel at a certain speed and save you on gas costs. By doing this you will also have a much smoother drive.

Another suggestion to save money could be to not drive as much. If you live in a busy area where there is a lot of traffic, then you could try carpooling to work or taking public transport.

Add more of the following activities to your life to save:

  • Walking
  • Bicycling
  • Public Transportation
  • Carpooling

If you want to save more on car insurance and other car expenses, read Most Affordable Car Insurance Companies.

Taking the time to write out and determine how much each expense approximately is can be very beneficial.

Sometimes writing out and calculating up your expenses can help you see an area where you can immediately make a significant change to save money.

Trying to change too much too fast could have you feeling too pushed to stick to a routine. When pushing yourself to become more frugal, it is important to give yourself some time and make changes gradually.

Blogging for Passive Income

Blogging for Passive Income

Blogging is a great form of passive income that you can do from the comfort of your home. It is important to understand that to make money blogging you will likely need to put in a significant amount of work setting up your site.

A few benefits for blogging are the following:

  1. Starting a Blog is Easy
  2. You Work on Your Own Schedule
  3. Your Outreach Can Be Huge

There are two great sites for learning to blog, triedandtruemomjobs.com and wealthyaffiliate.com.

triedandtruemomjobs.com is a resourceful site to get the quick details about blogging and whether this job is for you.

This site is also great for learning abut other passive income jobs such as freelance writing, proofreading or bookkeeping. This is where I found the idea to blog as a way to connect with and help people.

You can learn a lot about what it really takes to make it as a blogger and how to get in touch with resources that can help you learn more.

The online jobs where you can work on your own time and make money could be especially valuable if you have a busier life.

wealthyaffiliate.com is a tremendous resource for learning all the basics on how to start your own website. This resource has everything you could want if you are interested in getting started with blogging.

They provide step by step instructions to get your website started and get you going. They have tons of support to help you when you get stuck with a problem.

Both of these resources offer tons of insight and can help you get started by helping you create your own website.

Working as a DoorDash or Uber driver

Working as a DoorDash or Uber driver

If you are looking for quick paying jobs to pay the bills, then driving for DoorDash or Uber are probably the easiest to get started with. It is important to point out that these two options are good for generating some money quickly.

You can get started with DoorDash within five days once you apply to work for them and pass a background check.

I have tried DoorDash and it was a great learning experience. I tried it for four weeks before I figured out that it was a good way to consistently pick up some money if you really need that quick boost in income.

It was nice to get a boost in income fast and get paid every week.

There are plenty of opportunities for money to be made if you live in a populated area but if you don’t then this might not be your best option to make money.

I have not personally tried Uber but it does have a few reasons that make it desirable.

The flexible hours and guaranteed money are hard to deny and if you are willing to test out your area, you could probably develop a system for making money efficiently.

But the amount of Uber drivers has grown a lot and now there are a lot of people driving for Uber. This means that it can be hard to make excellent money but you can make decent money consistently and get paid every week.

Research and Experiment to Find What Works For You

I have talked about a few places to start looking for jobs or how to save money but these are just areas to start.

Figuring out what jobs are going to work for you can be critical. I am an introverted person.

So me trying to apply for a very social, pushy job, such as a car salesman, would not really make sense.

Be realistic about where you are most likely to make improvements in your life and focus on researching and experimenting to find what works best for you.

I hope that this post gave you some cheap money making ideas that can help save or make you money.

If you have any questions, leave them below and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

  3. Right on the money with your tips in this post. Am familiar with pennyhoarder, always some good info there. I have not heard of the one blogging resource you mentioned – triedandtruemomjobs.com. I will be sure to check out that site. I agree, food is definitely an area where many people can cut back and spend less. For some of us, we have certain dietary requirements that really limit how much we can cut back within reason. I miss the good ole days when if I wanted some Ramen, I cooked it. I can’t eat that stuff now.
    Great post, quite interesting.

  4. This is a really great post, direct and right on the topic. I am a blogger myself, I didn’t earn money yet but I believe it is a good way to do what you have passion on and earn money with it.
