Create Shopping lists

Creating a shopping list with what you need and sticking to that list is critical to saving money.

Getting in the habit of doing this will make it a part of your routine and before you know it this will be instilled in your shopping routine.

I like to write up the shopping list when I am at home and have extra minutes to think about what I really need and put it on the list.

Creating the list at home will give you enough time to determine whether each item you are thinking about buying should go on the shopping list.

Creating the list at home will help reduce how much impulse buying you do by a lot.

Whenever I am in doubt about buying an item, I always look at the list and buy the item.

This is because if I put it on the shopping list then I know that I have thought about this decision at home and determined that I needed this item.

Buy in Bulk

You should be buying most of your household items such as toilet paper, paper towels, coffee filters in bulk if you want to save more money. The key is to plan ahead some and buy in bulk because then you will save more money in the long run.

Whether you are buying for yourself or buying for many people, you should try to buy in bulk because in the long run it will save you a significant amount of money.

Buying in bulk will also help you be more stocked up so that you don’t have to go to the store or go shopping as frequently.

I like to buy most of my household items in bulk because then my place is stocked and prepared.

Buying in bulk will ultimately save you tons of time because you will be able to buy most of your items at the same time.

I like to go on one big shopping trip once a week and buy whatever items I need. This is because then I can acquire all the household items that I will need for that next week.

Shop at Discount Stores

Shop at discount stores to get the best deal because these stores carry everyday items at an inexpensive price.

There are many discount stores out there but using a few of them have worked well for me.

Some of the best discount stores include:

Shopping at these discount stores will allow you to get the vast majority of your household items at the best price.

I like to use Target for most of my household products that I need. But trying out Ross or Thrift stores for certain items could be great for extra savings.

Getting a few simple plates, cups or bowls at thrift stores or Ross could be an easy way to save a few extra dollars.

Making one, or all of these discount stores, part of your shopping routine will save you money.

Use Rakuten or Paribus

Using Rakuten or Paribus could be beneficial resources that can help you get cash back or save money for when you go shopping.

Both of these resources are helpful for saving. Especially if you are already spending the money on certain stores because then you will be able to save money on the purchases that you have to make.

Each of these resources is designed to find great deals and save you money or give you cash back. It is easy to sign up and get started with either and both could help you save money.

Befriend Worker in Store

If you befriend a worker at a discount store, or a store that you like to buy items in, then this could allow you to get special deals.

You could learn about when a sale is going to happen in the near future and doing this could help you always get the best deal possible.

Befriending a worker in your shopping store could save you money. But make sure that you are not shopping at a store only because of a very friendly worker in a store.

You want to try to shop at a discount store and do most of your shopping for everyday items there because it will save you the most.

Buy Generic Products

Buying generic products will allow you to save extra on everyday items. The big name brands are going to be more expensive than the other not as well known brands but these lesser known brands could give you just what you need.

I mostly go for the least expensive and quality product that is being advertised.

I recently bought a bunch of band-aids that were technically not called band-aids but were called flexible fabric.

They appeared to be as good of a product as the traditional band-aid but were simply a different name then the super well-known Band-aid name and I saved a ton.

Stay Home and Relax

If you stay at home and focus on relaxing, you will likely save money and potentially find a great way to relax.

Almost everyone is busy and when they have time to relax they want to do the most that they can to relax.

But instead of going out and trying to find some place to get that coveted relaxation time, why not create that place at home?

Try this tip out and you could be surprised at how much you save and relax.

Make Coffee at Home

Most of us need coffee in our life and taking the time to prepare it at home will save you a bundle.

I don’t drink a huge amount of coffee but I was still able to save hundreds a year by preparing my coffee at home.

I was able to buy a simple drip coffee maker and now it takes less than 5 minutes to create and I use it everyday.

Investing in a good coffee maker that you like is going to end up saving you a lot of money and be much more convenient for you.

Take Care of Car

A car can become a very significant expense but by taking better care of it you can keep it running longer and save yourself some money too.

Doing some basic maintenance to keep the car running smoothly can help reduce the chance of the car needing repairs.

Wash car consistently but using minimal water can keep the paint from being damaged by dirt and salt.

Be mindful of where you park the car so that it is not in a place where it could get hit by another car.

I always try to park in a less busy spot if possible so that the car has a lesser chance of getting hit by a car, bike or person.

It is always a good idea if you are parking in a new area to make sure you know what the parking rules are for that spot.

Parking tickets can happen when you least expect it but understanding what the exact rules and hours are for where you park is going to keep you from racking up tickets.

Research the Real Retail Prices of Items

There can often be sales claiming to have a big market in price but it is important to know what is actually a good deal.

Some of these sales are actually slashing the price from a very expensive starting to a slightly more expensive price than you could get from buying this same item at a discount store.

Do online research to see what the prices are for the items that you are needing to see what the best place to get it will be.

If you do this research, then you will be able to quickly determine whether a sale is truly a good deal or not.
